Behavior During A Traffic Accident

Before Everything…

  • Take a deep breath, turn off the vehicle, turn on hazard lights, do not move the car and get as relaxed as possible, do not blame or admit guilt.
  • Check that all passengers are safe and sound, wear a glow vest, put a warning triangle at least 100 meters from your vehicle, take pictures of vehicles from many angles including the location of the accident.
  • If there are no casualties – after you have taken your pictures, make sure to evacuate the vehicle (if possible) to the side of the road and then exchange details.
  • If there are casualties – contact the police, Magen David Adom and, if necessary, firemen. In no way should the vehicles be moved and we must wait for the arrival of the police and act according to the instructions of the police.
  • The safety officer is always at your service. Once he is updated and informed, he can assist and direct accordingly.

What Details to Take?

  • Thanks to advanced technology, pictures should be taken of the following three items, as well as exchange mobile numbers:
  1. Car license
  2. Compulsory insurance
  3. Driving license
  • Please note that the documents are compatible with the driver and vehicle and are in effect.
  • There is no need to enter into confrontations – if the driver is unwilling to give his details, write down his vehicle number and do not continue the argument.
  • Remember – do not blame and do not admit guilt.

Continued Vehicle Activity

  • A vehicle with minor damage can continue to be driven and reported to the traffic officer at the first opportunity.
  • If there are damages that prevent or jeopardize the continuation of the journey (flashlights, hard tin damage, windshields or broken mirrors), the leasing company should be operated.
  • Remember – driving in an improper vehicle may put you and others in danger.
