winter tip

Driving with lights on highways is required from November 1, 2020 until March 31, 2021

*Buses, taxis and trucks are also required to turn on lights on city streets.

The First Rain

The Israeli summer is very hot, dry and leaves layers of sand, dust, oils and more on the street.

When the first rain comes, it mixes with all layers and raises them above the street. This is the main reason for the loss of tire grip on the street causing accidents.

The first rain is basically our transition between summer driving and winter driving.

In the winter, the weather conditions make it difficult to visualize and impair the grip between the tires and the street and must be adapted to the new form of driving.

The Responsibility Is In Our Hands!

  • Driving at low speed and maintaining a greater distance from
the vehicle in front of us.
  • Slow down your vehicle by gently pressing on the brake pedal and maintaining greater distance before entering an intersection.
  • Drive carefully and pay close attention to the road, avoid the use of a cellphone or anything else unrelated to driving.
  • Avoid driving on puddles that are unsafe.
  • Avoid unnecessary bypassing and driving fast.
  • Avoid driving with hats and coats.
  • Drive at a lower speed than usual and of course at the speed limit.
  • Keep a greater distance from the vehicle ahead.
  • Turn on the car lights during the day.

News

Fog light is mandatory in every vehicle since 1988. It can only be lit when the main lights are on, and it is allowed to operate only in fog, torrential rain, snow, heavy hail and mostly when visibility is poor in order to see others and others can see us.

In addition to turning on the fog light, we must drive slow and according to visibility.

Today, some vehicles have front fog light installed, but they are not mandatory in every vehicle, such as the rear light.

Winter Check

  • Check the air pressure according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Check the vehicle lights, the integrity of the windows and windshield.
  • Replace the windshield wipers if necessary and check the windshield sprinkler function.
  • Cleaning the vehicle from the outside improves the quality of vision and gives a more pleasant feeling from the inside.
  • Driving with proper weight will maintain vehicle stability.
  • Check the vehicle brake system and, if you feel that something is wrong in the vehicle, we recommend that you go to the garage.
  • Check the air conditioner and steam defroster.

Wishing you a pleasant and safe winter!

We will be happy to assist you in any professional matter and to expand upon your request.
